 Aid for the Republic of Georgia - Asheville, NC- Hearts With Hands, Inc. has learned that over 100,000 people are homeless in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia due to the recent Russian conflict and ensuing invasion. Grace Baptist Church which is located in the capital city of Tbilisi, has sent money to Hearts With Hands on two occasions. The first donation was to be used for disaster relief in central Florida when tornadoes devastated the city of Lady Lake, FL and when Hurricane Ivan ravaged western North Carolina in 2004. According to Hearts with Hands executive director Bill Bradley, The members of Grace Baptist Church shared their hearts with us when we needed help; now it is time for us to do the right thing and return the favor.
Hearts with Hands will be collecting financial donations to pay for shipping which will be approximately $ 8,000 per container. Hearts With Hands has made contact with representatives of Grace Baptist Church and will be collecting the following items for shipment:
Non-perishable Food Items/Convenience Foods
Flashlights/Batteries
Bottled Water
Hygiene Items
Camping Supplies
Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
Plastic Plates, Forks, Knives, Spoons
Diapers/Wipes/Baby Food
Cleaning Supplies
New Clothes or Lovingly Used Clothes*
First Aid Supplies/OTC Medications
*Note: Due to shipping restrictions, used clothes must be folded and be packed in boxes, preferably banana boxes. Clothes brought in trash bags will NOT be accepted.

School Tools - Hearts With Hands, Inc. has received numerous requests for assistance to help school children in the area with school supplies. In response to these requests Hearts With Hands is conducting its annual School Tools program. The agency will be collecting NEW book bags, pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, and other school related supplies.

"PIP" stands for "Preparedness is Paramount" and is an outreach program of Hearts with Hands, Inc. PIP is a four hour seminar that addresses how to prepare your family to deal with disasters that may occur.
