The shelter has been established in coordination with Echols County Emergency Management and local officials to provide a safe place for evacuees and those who no longer feel secure remaining in their homes.

The emergency shelter is located at:

Residents who have been evacuated or who feel unsafe due to wildfire conditions are encouraged to seek refuge at the shelter.

Individuals and families are asked to bring the following items if possible:

  • Medications

  • Important documents

  • Clothing and personal items

  • Bedding and pillows

  • Items for children, including formula, diapers, and comfort items

Pets are welcome; however, they will be housed separately.
